Last week, having had our concept panel on monday, I took the rest of the week off - and spent most of it thinking about what I would make for these next two weeks in the run up to our assessment (on the 28th!)
I decided that I would;
-Produce a larger scale version of the MVC text I had been working with (to follow in next post)
-Experiment with collage
-Produce some of the books I talked about a while ago as more final little samples of my experiments.
-Continue to experiment with the text as a whole, using the spacing and font. (Blog entry 25)
I also have to write my personal development plan at some point too...
Below are scans of my experimentation with collage of the Borges text that I made yesterday.
These are a little scruffy, but I think that they work quite well. I prefer this first image with the text in a spiral, using just individual letters instead of words. as I didn't need to overlap so much words are more easily formed, where as with the circular piece, where OI use thew words this is not so easy; the overlapping in places prevents the viewer from being able to create sentences them selves. although I feel I should mention that this was completely random, with no effort on my part to make any sentences or words, but I think that these pieces draw out that part of use that needs to find meaning in things, much like the people in the library constantly searching for answers.
These have been quite successful, and there is lots more that I could do with this..but I'm thinking that I will mainly focus on what I already have, I might come back to this though - we'll see.
