Our brief for the Concept module |
We recently started the second module, Concept. I have been thinking about what I might start working on for this module, and have a couple of ideas, but nothing concrete yet..
I have also been thinking about my dissertation topic; and have decided that I will continue, as suggested, with the same topic as for my previous short essay in the debates module. I will be examining the distinction between 'art' and 'illustration'.
I feel that this topic fits well with me and my practice, as on my previous course i studdied Fine Art, and since starying this course I have found myself most interested in illustration, and i sometimes struggle with how to define myself. I hope that being able to explore this topic further it will help me define my practice and gain a better understanding of it.
However, I am struggling to see how this topic might fit with the things that I am interested in exploring within the concept module.
Something that I am deeply interested in, is animals and birds and our relationships with them. This is something that I have worked with in the past, and I am keen to do so again. The thing that interests me at the moment is issues surrounding British wildlife;
- RSPB Red List
-Badgar culling
-Issues surrounding foxes
Although I am not entirely sure what it is I will do with this yet, these are the kinds of topics that I would like to base my work around.
