CONCEPT : Blog entry 4

I felt that my previous attempt at drawing the starling murmuration worked quite well, so after watching some clips I decided to do a couple more. These are really time consuming, but look really effective. I think that these would be really good on a larger scale (say a large wall in a gallery space). Although despite this, I'm not sure that there is a 'project' in this..I may have to think about it more.

I also had the idea of using poetry to create the shapes the starlings created. I tried to do this in illustrator first...but I am still working out illustrator and it did not go well. So instead I did it by hand. The poem that I used is Starlings in Winter by Mary Oliver (Oliver, 2014)

Although I think this does work, I think that the images of the murmuration that don't use text are more effective, but again; I'm not sure how this would develop into a project. Really it was just an idea that I felt I had to get off my chest.

Have also been looking at concrete poetry and created a  board on Pintrest, although most of it seems to be by Sam Winston.

Although I like the idea of concrete poetry, and I really enjoyed working with typography in my previous project, I'm not sure if I want to continue with it..although I could probably draw a project out of that, but I'm not sure how it would fit with any of the topics that I am wanting to work around.
